A blessing to our family

Today I want to write something a little bit different, something more personal.

Talking about how Gid is blessing our family

Last summer we ha a little bit of clumsy accident with our family car, the insurance company would take care of it and we was in contact with a workshop that would help us getting it fixed. The months were going and going, winter came and also disappeared again and we started to wonder when our car would be fixed. It wasn't a difficult damage but the drivers door was a little bit hard to open an close. So now when spring came my husband decided to contact the car company and our car had been forgotten about.

We talked again with the insurance company and they were a little bit ashamed for it taking way to long but they helped us to get it all back running again.

The final decision came and it was apparently to expencive to fix the car so they wanted to hand it in and instead give us the money for it. A little bit of frustration from our side appeared, waiting so long for it to be fixed to just know that they can't do anything about it..

Well, somehow we thought there would be a purpose with that as well. And we where right. We were able to get more for the car than we had expected, and that probably because they felt a little bit ashamed for the long waiting, but also my husband were very nice and calm with him and eventually they could reach to a good deal, and the insurance man even admitted my husband had been an unusually calm negotiator. We got the money for it but now the new problem started, to find a new car!

Since there are seven of us in the family we need a bigger kind of car with at least 7 seats, which isn't that easy to find, especially not within our tight budget. We looked at a couple of different models but still had in mind the kind of car we already had before because we knew it worked, but we were hoping to find a car that was a little bit bigger or at least that had a bigger luggage space. We searched and searched, and for almost two months we were without a car that could fit our whole family. We did a lot of puzzling and the older children was riding their bikes a lot here in the village to manage everyone being able to follow along, we was also blessed with borrowing cars from family and friends.

Suddenly we found a car, a bit more expensive that we had planned for, but it looked very nice and still it was a bit cheaper than cars in the same models. My husband called to ask about it and we decided to see if we could make it happen. It was also located around 1000km from us so we also had to manage to solve the logistics around that as well.

And you know something...without really understanding it we had enough money to afford it without even taking any loans for it. I'm still a bit confused about if but I know that the Lord provided for us in this situation. I was praying very specifically about a car that could serve Him and also bring our family where we need to go. So now when we have this car, this nine seated minivan, with huge luggage space (!!) I am 100% sure that this is all a blessing from God. And we will use it to serve Him and I hope it will last for a very long time! So not only did we get what we needed, we even got more than we needed and every could have hoped for! And the logistics to bring it home was also solved thanks to a brother of my husband that offered to go by train and then driving it home. There were also a LOT of struggles along the way but everything was solved bit by bit and now, it is finally standing here on our driveway.

And with this, I just want to give you who might be in a season of waiting or just in a season of need, an encouragement that the Lord truly has everything in His hand, even materail things that we actually need. Keep close to Him in this season that you're in, let Him lead you in the ways that he has for you. Sometimes he has an other way prepared, and many times that way is even better than the one we have in mind. God is always providing for us in our needs, so if you have a need today...turn to God and put your trust in Him. Not in yourself or anyone else, but in Him alone and you will see that he will help you through whatever you might be facing.

Take care and be blessed dear friends. /Viktoria
