Another kind of witchcraft few is talking about

Often when we think about witchcraft we have a certain view in our mind on how that looks like, but there is an interesting detail in the Bible when talking about another kind of witchcraft that at least I haven’t heard so much about when talking about this specific issue.

witchcraft in the churches

As christians we know (hopefully) that the spiritual world and the spiritual war is real, we know that there are devils, witches, sorcerers and so on out in the world, using the same demonic forces that the Bible talks about for example in Exodus 7. We cannot be blind for the other side of the coin where the devil actually tries to make us fall away from God, we should never be scared but being aware of i. Not everything we see, hear or feel is from God, just as Pharaoh's magicians who performed similar miracles that Moses did, and it is good to be aware of the darkness trying to find itself in to eventually quench the light.

So why then do I bring this subject up here where I want to encourage women in their womanhood and motherhood? That is a good question and we will get that question answered very soon.

The biblical woman is all about meekness, humbleness, submission, being a helper and having that specific role in a marriage/family/church that God has ordained. Examples of women after this biblical principles is of course Esther, Ruth, the proverbs 31 woman and the Titus 2 woman. Another example of a woman who actually went outside of this order was Eve.. And this is where the expression rebellion has it ́s starting point I think. Eve was acting in rebellion towards Adam and towards God, being deceived by the devil.

Now you might think, how Eve’s rebellious behavior can be on the line of witchcraft, but if we take a look at the Bible again. I read the King James Bible and there are many reasons for that I wont bring up today but it´s absolutely worth taking a look at if you haven’t already. In 1 Samuel 15:23 is says: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Here we can see it very clearly, rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. The Bible compares rebellion to witchcraft, it might not be witchcraft in it self but it is likened to it which I think we as women particularly should be very concerned about, because isn’t rebellion the very thing that the feministic system is leading women towards? To break out from their woman role that God has ordained them to from the very creation to instead be their own god of their life, ruling over their husbands, leading churches and so on. I think that sound very much like witchcraft in the sense of rebellion.

God has put the man as a leader, in the marriages, in the families and in the churches so even if we see women as leaders in these particular areas it is still wrong, it is to go outside of the biblical foundation and God’s will for us, it is an act of rebellion. Even if society is celebrating ruling women we as bible believing christian should instead be honoring the ruling man, seeing the beauty of a woman being inte the place where God wants her to be.

Being under the man is nothing that is oppressive, it is something we should cherish very dearly. Being under our husbands protection, being a helper and being a witness of God’s glory by our very living. Being in this God given order doesn’t mean though that as a woman I can’t be dedicated to evangelisation or as it is stated in Titus 2 be a teacher of good things to the younger women. There is a time and a place where we should speak and teach and lead but we have to be careful so we don’t go to far, taking the place of the man, being deceived by witchcraft or by pride or other seducing spirits because we think we could do a better job than the man. Sure, sometimes we might be able to, but it´s still not where we are supposed to be. We should instead try to encourage our husband or the man in charge, trying to lift him up, helping him without manipulation or playing games to get our will done through him.

Christian mother with head covering, motherhood

Be a genuin helper to your husband and let God do His work in him. Choose submission instead of rebellion, choose godliness instead of witchcraft. Pray that God will help you in the discernment of these areas in your life so your'e not led into things not of God.
